Chuck Wills - Panel Chair

July 17th

This expert panel will lead a review in the area's best practices and techniques including critical practice, legal, policy and ethical considerations and the importance of care, capacity, family dynamics, abuse awareness and financial issues. Ultimately, a determination of the appropriateness of mediation has to be made.

This panel will cover topics equally relevant and important to mediators and legal professionals who deal with older adults and their families and need to be equipped to handle their sensitive emotional and physical needs. As an example, realtors will need to be knowledgeable and wary of these topics when dealing with reverse mortgages, powers of attorney for property, and critical issues when selling a family home, which can render their elderly clients vulnerable to abuse.
