Comprehensive ODR Course (Presented Online)

The ADR Institute of Canada (ADRIC) and The Canadian Collaborative for Engagement & Conflict Management (CECM) have once again united. We have updated and extended our popular, practically-focused program on Online Dispute Resolution (ODR).

The year is 2024. The dispute resolution field has settled into the “new normal”. Online service offerings have become commonplace amongst ADR practitioners. As it goes with technology, there are constantly new disrupters. The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a prime example. It is important for ADR professionals to understand how AI impacts parties participating in mediation and arbitration. This program provides a contemporary overview of Online Dispute Resolution, complete with interactive insights shared around cutting-edge developments through such phenomenon as AI and online becoming the default venue for many ADR processes in this day and age.

Join Canada’s leading ODR experts to get up to speed in the latest ODR trends, to consider best practices around common online ADR offerings of the day and to assess how to prepare for the inevitable increased integration of AI into dispute resolution processes.

Day 1 – Talk the Talk | Saturday, June 1, 2024 10:00 pm to 4:00 pm EST | Zoom

The first day of this fully updated workshop features the co-authors of Canada’s first book about ODR offering an overview of the interplay of ODR in ADR, interactive discussions around key considerations, and a practical view of the role of technology in everyday practice.

Day 2 – Walk the Walk  | Saturday, June 8, 2024 10:00 pm to 4:00 pm EST | Zoom

The second day includes role playing and an experiential embrace of Online Dispute Resolution. Attendees will have the chance to consider the experience of parties to help them to empathize and strategize around how to introduce, refine, or fine tune, their dispute resolution services in today’s “new normal”.
